Damn, another documentary to see! It seems like there's so much to learn right now. I've got three documentaries waiting to be watched (four, as I am acquiring a copy of "Chicago 10" right now) and have watched four more in the past couple weeks. I'm not sure if I'm complaining or not, really. :) I just remember a time when all I watched were fun movies. :P

Thanks for posting about this, though--it looks really cool. It came out in 2007, apparently. It's a shame it didn't get better publicity. Obviously a movie about an important event.

@dave -- I actually reached out to Bill and ThePete to let them know I was going to mention them (that's part of my job and how I try to do things as a Community Manager online). Rock!

@w doug -- Absolutely. When you really think about how much we each contribute to views on YouTube (etc.) when we mention it to a friend, post it to our blogs, tweet about it on Twitter... you can see how 100s of 1,000s of views start to tabulate. Bill and ThePete were front and center in spreading this throughout the interconnectivity that is the "web."

Yeah, it was pretty shocking/amusing to see them behave that way during the convention. Shocking because it was such an obviously divisive thing to do and amusing to watch them fall prey to their own hypocrisies. And here I thought they were supposed to put America First! Bagging on a community organizer sounds like they're putting RICH America First, to me.

Hell, they *had* a Republian community organizer speak--he was the 27 year old white guy (who looked 16) and he talked about organizing a racially mixed inner-city area of Peoria, IL. Why didn't they point, laugh at him and call him a pussy?

But to me the issue is larger than just making fun of community organizers--it's the idea that they are quite literally picking on someone they feel superior to. That's a pretty dickish thing to do, if you ask me. I don't like people who pick on other people, regardless of what the picking-on is for.

Awesome post, though, Bill. It's great to see your opinion and the opinions of those other TV folks on this issue in one place.

I guess we shouldn't be too surprised at the behavior of the Repubs--they are the people who invaded Iraq.
